Lets get deep and important shall we…

After some thinking and being inspired partly by the honesty of Shanny from Educating Shanny, a YouTube channel about recovering from an eating disorder, and Emanique from The Cutting Cookies Circus, a blog where she writes blatantly honestly and inspiringly about her personal journey including Aspergers, I have realised that I am not going the way I had planned for this blog. It is choppy, jumping from subject to subject and not personal at all. I promised that this would be a way for you to get to know me better and I don’t think I live up to that. You get to see glimpses, but not the deep and important truths. Lets get deep and important shall we.

I have had a post hanging for quite a while now, it’s about a normal day for me, Aspergers, add, medication and all, but it´s just getting longer and longer because I don’t have a filtering system for whats important and not, so I write about everything. I guess because everything is equally important to me, and leaving any out would feel false. I think it’s just going to have to be long, and its coming up next!

Anyway, I’m going to start sharing, among the sewing and bunnies, the life of a 35-year-old woman with Aspergers, ADD, anxiety and panic issues.

Holly Golightly: Do you think she’s talented, deeply and importantly talented?
Paul Varjak: No. Amusingly and superficially talented, yes. But deeply and importantly, no.”

Top with bonus cat!

Wanna buy some authentic Friday Frida merchandise? No, I’m just kidding! I cleaned out my closet and am selling the things I don’t use or fit into on the Swedish eBay equivalent, Tradera.

Its amazing, the amount of stuff one person can accumulate! I saved some things that have sentimental value, and the best pair of pants I have ever seen (I might get into them again…. i might) and the rest I stored in a plastic box for about half a year, then I had a look at it again, and if I had not missed it, I probably woun’t in the future either.

Here are the stuff I’m selling, to place a bet on anything, go to the link provided below. All the funds are going towards better bloghosting.

  1. Gorgeous floral jacket from InWear. (I don’t want to sell this, but I have never, nor will I ever fit into it, so I’m giving it a better home!)
  2. Burgundy cardigan.
  3. White fancy shirt.
  4. Very pink bathing suit.
  5. Dark blue stretchy pants.
  6. Flattering black with white dots dress.
  7. Lavender shorts.
  8. Soft brown velvet jacket.
  9. Purple and turquoise stripy dressy thingy.
  10. Exclusive wool turtle neck.
  11. Cute red tartan short sleeved shirt.
  12. Green top including cat around the shoulders.
  13. Green tartan blouse, bought in Taiwan.
  14. Very orange exercise top, with bonus inbuilt bra.
  15. Cosy dark blue corduroy pants.
  16. Blue tartan shirt dress thingy.
  17. Black and red tartan tight little wool skirt.

Hay!

New hay setup for the bunnies! They used to have a fabric bag I sewed a while a go, but it was so floppy and it liked to collect teeny tiny pieces of hay that I could never clean out! This is a “Variera” plastic bag holder from IKEA. I have seen warnings that your bunny can get stuck in these, but Billy and Ivar are quite big and its securely cable tied to that grid.

They definitely seem to approve! They can reach they hay much better now. And these two are very good little hay eaters, I think they go through about tree refills of this size in 24 hours.

As you can see Ivar has had his haircut, and Billy is up next. They are almost exactly the same size…. I promise!

Secret Sewing

I have spent the last week sewing the most complicated and well made toiletry bag ever! It was for my husbands birthday, today Saturday when I am writing this. And he was worth every minute, and I enjoyed it too. 🙂 fput2743I used this free pattern “Toiletry bag for Dad“, from the Fabric.com blog. Fantastic tutorial that I gladly would have payed for. picmonkey20collage2_resized

I used this lovely little thingamajig for making my own bias tape, there was quite a lot of bias tape involved, that is the inside fabric by the way. bxdq6843

Finished! I really took my time and tried to make every part perfect, and I had to do it in secret too, so it took me about four days. The only things I would change is to put the yellow zipper in the same direction as the top one, the other direction then obviously. I would also quilt the bottom and side parts, they seem little floppy like this, I know you can’t see it in this picture, it’s just a minor detail. I’m just mentioning the things I would change because I really think I will make more of this great little toiletry bag!

Bunny Haircut Day!

Time for the Angoras bunnies, Billy and Ivar, to have a haircut. You have to shear them 4 times a year. Their fur grows about 1mm a day and as you can see on Billy, the grey one, they become extremely fluffy, and it starts matting up and eventually they can’t move and eat and clean themselves. Ivar was first, and here we have shorn most of him, there is some tricky parts around the butt and the front legs and neck left, then we all needed a bit of a break. 🙂

Here we have Ivar with Billy acting as cleaning crew.

Finished! We all did very good today, bunnies and humans! I know it’s not the prettiest haircut, but here we focus on getting the hair of, keeping all bunny parts on, and still do it as fast as possible. Success! Now he feels like warm velvet and is much happier and bouncier, and as you can see, Ivar is a pink bunny disguising as a white one.

Ivar is a sort of rare kind of bunny, a shoulder bunny! This is where he wants to be if you carry him around. And Angoras do have to be comfortable being handled and carried because of all the haircuts they need, so they are totally ok with that.
