Beautiful fall foliage, but they are the scary because after this the darkness of winter looms.leaf1leaf2leaf3leaf4leaf5leaf6leaf7

Alingsås

Im back! Feeling a bit better, enough to walk around Alingsås, my closest, adorable little town, to take advantage of the Pokemon halloween event, taking some pictures along the way.

Alingsås house of culture, with adorable reading/lecturing/storytelling area.hxzv2285

Glorious row of traditional “window” stars. I must add that I am pretty proud of how I edited this photo making the stars “shine”.suhd3502

Sleeping (its a toy) kitten in the pet shop window display, and lots of lamps for the yearly event “Lights in Alingsås

Fall Pictures

More pictures from the beautiful surroundings of Nääs Castle not far from my home. dcbh9275wbpa2381mhri7828iuci7666

This is the stables that once supplied the castle with horse power and now supply the local youth with horse riding lessons. 🙂

Angora

Carding angora fiber.
And before anyone says anything about the horrible treatment of angora rabbits, this fiber is from my own pet angora Ivar, I do the shearing with the help of my husband and lots of treats and cuddles. I am the proud human mama of Ivar and his brother Billy, they are four and a half years old, in excellent health, very adorable and I shear them four times a year. They do not live in a cage, but have their own room in my house. Ill write about them more another time, right now I am carding the beautiful white wool of Ivar, he is an albino. cjdx7885I have this special carder with extra fine and dense teeth on the carding cloth, to be able to card the super fine angora fiber. Its an Howard David Tri-Carder, that I got at “Den Gamla Skolan”.

img_3914All fluffy and straight. One pass is enough, the second pass just seem to tangle it again.

wogp5730_2I prefere to make “fake” rolags of the wool after I get it off the carder, its spinns easiest that way. Not that spinning angora is easy, its almost like spinning cotton.

The plan is to spin a fingering weight yarn and use it as the white part in these mittens I am planning to knit. The Märta mittens by Clara Falk. The angora is not strong enough to use alone in a pair of mittens but mixed with the sock yarn I think it will work out great and create a warmer pair of mittens. And I need that when I am out Pokemon hunting, it will only get colder and I am not about to stop playing PokemonGo just because its winter. 😉
Which colors should I use?
